Through the White Flame

It was a windy day in the suburban, quaint little town known as Accumula. The tree leaves rustled in the wind, rubbing together to make a sound similar to that of a Seviper's hiss. Some of the leaves were tugged from their homes on branches and drifted along the wind to eventually land on the ground before being carried away by another gust.
 Days like these were days that most preferred to stay inside or in an enclosed area, away from the wind. However, some were not so fortunate to have the luxury of a certain place to stay, such as the small, thin Eevee with mangled fur and eyes squinted shut as he lay on the cold, rocky pavement, his tail curled around his malnourished form. Each time the wind blew, his small body would shake and shiver and he would let out a tiny moan of discomfort.

Cyi snuggled close to the necklace near him, periodically chewing on it. He felt being moved once in a while, only to nod it off in his dreams. Eventually thought he did awake, and looked at Tynish. Why am I like this big sister... he said, his flame flickering.

Once again the Eevee shuddered as a gust blew across his gnarled pelt, but this time he noticed it brought a peculiar yet not unfamiliar scent to his nose.
A human.
The Eevee instinctively staggered to his paws and fell into a defensive position, readying himself to leap on the next thing that moved. His baby blue eyes scanned the area before landing upon the approaching figure of Tynish. The fur on his back pricked and he began to bare his small but pointy teeth as his eyes wandered to the Pokeballs at her side.
"Honestly, you are as useless as you are strange."
The deep voice of a man echoed in his ears.
"We can't afford yet another failure, Diverge, so get it in gear now!"
The Eevee flattened his ears back against his head, trying to push the voice from his thoughts. He growled weakly at Tynish, his ragged tail flicking back and forth.

Cyi 's flame flickered and he swirved on his sister's head to notice a small ball of fur hidden from view. He scotched off her her, landing on the sidewalk with a small squish before crawling over to the Pokemon. He tilted his body looked at the creature. Was this a Pokemon? He remembered all the Pokemon his mother once told him about before he embarked on his journey with his big sister three years ago, but never knew of this one. He held out his little hand.
"Hi there. My name is Cyi!" the little candle said softly.

The Eevee cautiously sniffed at the slice of apple, eyeing it as if it were an object from outer space. He had never seen an apple before. He was only fed dried up and stale pieces of bread by humans. His eyes drifted up to Tynish's, then back at the apple. Taking a hesitant step closer, he swiftly grabbed the apple in his teeth and backed away, giving himself some distance before devouring the apple. Normally he would not have been so trusting as to take food from a human. However, his barren stomach screamed out for food, and this was a risk he had to take.
When he finished the apple in a matter of seconds, he looked back at Tynish almost expectantly, his stomach growling for more food.

Cyi watched the little brown fox devour the apple slice, and he quickly scooted away and hid behind his sister's leg. He stayed there, but then jumped when he hear yelling. Quickly he found his way to his sister's head and hid there.

Cyi looked at the boy, looking him over and watched his sister's Dewott fall into play. It made him cringe even more now that he was a fire type. He tried to crawl under her tuffs of hair on her head to hide. Why was his sister talking to the boy? Didn't she notice he yelled at her? Thats bad, right? His flame flickered once more, as he gazed down at the Eevee.

The Eevee squinted his eyes, looking at the two trainers curiously. Shiny Pokemon? The term was unfamiliar to him.

Averting his gaze to the container set before him, he grabbed a slice of apple with his teeth. With a few bites he wolfed down the apple before reaching back for more. Unintentionally, his pure white paw was extended into view while he ate.

His white paw was something the Eevee was never proud of. Pokemon constantly gave him strange looks due to his baby blue eyes and the white paw.

The Eevee's mother always used to tell him that his paw and his baby blue eys made him special and unique. His heart fluttered and his expression softened upon remembering his mother. Munching happily on an apple slice, he returned his attention to the two trainers, content with simply listening to them.

Cyi looked at his sister, and did a little facepalm. Did she really have to use her gift of talking to pokemon again? And let the boy who just show up learn about it? He was about to whisper to his sister till the little Petilil joined him. This startled him a lot, almost making him fall over!
"Eeek!!! No no no!" Cyi cried and quickly dove into his sister's bag, his little flame flicker out of the open hole.

The Eevee became tense at the touch of Tynish's hand, however he willingly took the apple slice from her in his mouth and ate it, though much slower than the previous slices.

Upon finishing, the Eevee turned his head to lock eyes with Cyi. "You smell strange," he commented. "What kind of Pokemon are you, anyway?"

Cyi blinked at the Eevee and gave a weak smile. Could he....tell? "I'm a fire ghost type...They call me Litwick!" Cyi said in his Pokemon language. He hoped doing this as well would turn off the little Petilil's curiosity and leave him alone. But oddly enough, curiosity rose in Cyi as he poked the Eevee softly.

"And what are you? I've never seen your kind here before!" Cyi said tilting what was seemingly his head.

The Eevee tilted his head at Cyi. "I'm an Eevee. My name is Diverge," he explained. "I guess I'm farther from home than I thought..."

Feeling Tynish's careful hand slide down to his mid-back, he released a terse sigh. A trainer? he thought to himself. Not anymore.He flicked his eyes to the red-roof building which he recognized to be a Pokemon Center, albeit different in appearance than the kinds he was used to in his homeland, in hopes that she would understand that he would enjoy some treatment from a Pokemon Center.

"Eevee....Cool." Cyi said with a giggle. He watched his siter pet the Eevee, and he let out a little puff of air, and waved his arms around. He got jealous very very easily, and seeing the Eevee be handled, well he wanted part of that love! He grabbed onto his sister's hand and hugged it tightly, refusing to be let go. He was in one of those moods again.... His tail flickered, and he grunted quietly. It was his sister after all. Not this Pokemon's.

He walks out carefully from the bushes so he doesnt give the Herdier a reason to attack him. "Take it easy old timer I'm just digging around for some food is all." he said as he adjusted the black bandana he had rapped over his head. "I gotta say though its hard grabbing things with these claws." He said as he stared down at the tiny claws he had got just a few days ago due to his new form.

Diverge allowed himself to be lifted by Tynish, even gently snuggling himself into her arms. The warmth she was giving off felt good on his chilled body. He let out a relaxed purr as his ear was scratched by Marcus. His previous trainer had never treated him so nicely! Maybe some humans aren't so bad, he thought.

"Oh, dear," Nurse Joy gasped, "that poor thing! Just set it right here and I'll get him fixed up in a jiffy."

Diverge squirmed a little and hopped out of Tynish's hold, landing neatly on the counter. He looked at Nurse Joy trustingly, knowing just what these Nurses are capable of. At the very least, his old trainer did take him to Pokemon Centers... sometimes, anyhow.

Nurse Joy picked up the malnourished Eevee, bowing respectfully to Tynish and Marcus before taking him into the back room, an Audino closely following her.
